Its author Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva, Hussain Dalal, has addressed the criticism surrounding the film’s dialogues, revealing that the trolling has affected his confidence. In a recent interview with CNN-News18, Dalal was asked about the criticism leveled at the dialogues. He admitted that the trolling affected his morale, especially given his tendency to be honored for his work.
He claimed, “To be honest, confidence takes a hit, of course. Also, I have a bad habit that since I was very young, from my childhood. I was used to a lot of praise. So this affects you too. But then everyone in the world is educated enough to understand that everyone collectively agreed to say the lines, shoot the lines, direct the lines and write the lines.”
Dalal further added, “I did not run with the camera to shoot (only the film). I think the broader understanding is that everybody who makes movies understands that what we collectively tried (to make)… turned out like this. More than me losing my morale for a few months, other producers lost it (trust me). But honestly, I think it’s a great learning experience. Fantastic learning experience.”
Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva, which released in September 2022, directed by Ayan Mukerji. The Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt starrer received mixed reviews, with some critics praising its visual effects and others criticizing its dialogues and story.
