A Hallmark movie premiering this Christmas is being filmed on Connecticut College’s campus.

NEW LONDON, CT — Hallmark Christmas movies have long favored Connecticut as a backdrop, and this year is no different. The channel’s latest holiday movie is being filmed on Connecticut College’s campus in New London.

Details about the film have not been released, but “the production will transform the campus into a winter wonderland, complete with holiday decorations and merriment,” according to a statement.

“We are thrilled to welcome Hallmark to Connecticut College,” Amy Dooling, vice president of Strategic Initiatives, said in a statement. “This partnership is a fantastic opportunity to showcase Conn’s stunning beauty and unique character to a national audience. We look forward to seeing our campus come to life on screen.”

The production team includes Norwich’s Andrew Gernhard, who is producer and owner of Synthetic Cinema International. The Rocky Hill-based company has brought several Hallmark Christmas movies to life, including those filmed in Connecticut.

The locally shot film will be screened during the festive season.

When it does, it will join the many other holiday movies shot in Connecticut. Last year was “Mystic Christmas,” which featured soap opera and Broadway stars and was filmed in part at the Mystic Aquarium.
