The much awaited trailer of Rohit Shetty Circus revealed on Friday, December 2. While Ranveer Singh plays a double role for the first time, the comedy entertainer also marks Deepika Padukone’s cameo. The first song of the movie “Current Laga Re” was revealed in presence of both the actors in Mumbai. Rohit Shetty was also present as the peppy dance number left the audience wanting more.

Deepika Padukone is dressed in a pink-green outfit that looks like an ode to her character Meenamma from Chennai Express (2013). The actress wore a bun with gajras and a choker necklace. Ranveer, on the other hand, is dressed in all black with a stylish moustache. The crazy chemistry is palpable in the video, while the choreography is strong and fun. Composed by Lijo George and Dj Chetas, the song has been sung by Nakash Aziz, Dhvani Bhanushali, Jonita Gandhi and Lijo George.
During the trailer launch, Ranveer Singh was seen gushing about Deepika’s cameo in the song and called it ‘zabardast’ and ‘high voltage’. When asked about Deepika’s reaction after watching the song, Ranveer turned to Rohit Shetty and said, “She came to my office yesterday to see the song and Boss (Rohit Shetty) showed her the song. Boss, kaisa laga bhabhi ko?’ However, even before Shetty could answer the question, someone in the audience shouted, “Accha laga, accha laga”, which left everyone in splits.
Ranveer and Deepika got married in 2018 after dating for six years. The actors have worked together before Ram Leela, Bajirao Mastani, Padmaavat, and 83.
Circus based on The Comedy of Errors, which inspired the cult comedy Gulzar, Angoor and is set in the 1960s. The film also stars Pooja Hegde, Jacqueline Fernandez, Johny Lever, Siddharth Jadhav, Tiku Talsania, Sanjay Mishra, Vijay Patkar, Ashwini Kalsekar, Mukesh Tiwari, Vrajesh Hirjee, Brijendra Kala among others. Directed by Rohit Shetty, Circus is set to hit theaters this Christmas on December 23, 2022.
