Cobra Kai Boss clarifies the show’s connection to the recently announced new Karate Kid movie

Cobra Kaihis successor series The Karate Kid film franchise, is still as beloved by fans as ever after the the end of season 5and the anticipation for Season 6 has already been heightened by the news that a young Karate Kid the movie is coming in 2024. Those wondering if and how the Netflix series will connect to the upcoming film need not ponder any further, as co-showrunner Jon Hurwitz has cleared up the two projects’ connection, or lack thereof.

Despite actors like Ralph Macchio hypothetically talking about Cobra Kai spinoffs That could happen, it doesn’t look like Sony’s upcoming movie slated for June 7, 2024 is within those lines of thinking. Co-creator and EP Jon Hurwitz he tweeted sent a message after the film was announced and clarified where she currently stands in relation to the Netflix success story:

The kids and I would love to do Karate Kid and Cobra Kai movies and hopefully someday. But this isn’t about us nor does it focus on the cast of Cobra Kai. I don’t know much about it, but I wish it well.
