Superhero movies have finally reached the point of nostalgia for themselves. We have Michael Keaton reprise his role as Batman in the upcoming DCEU Flash movie. Willem Dafoe, Alfred Molina, Jamie Foxx and the rest of Spidey’s rogue gallery return to Spider-Man: No Way Home. They even brought Brandon Routh back to play Superman in Arrowverse.
One person who has clearly decided that he would like to dip his toe in the superhero genre again is Danny DeVito. said DeVito Forbes that he would like to play Oswald Cobblepot again, also known as The Penguin, but he has a condition, he wants Batman Returns director Tim Burton behind the camera before committing.
“I feel it is possible that the Penguin will return one day, but it all depends on Tim, whether he wants to or not,” he explained. “I would say that this could be on paper because we are not dead yet [laughs]. We could do a sequel to what we had in the past because it was really a great movie. They gave me this opportunity and I feel very grateful and I would like to visit it again? Why not! It was a really wonderful moment for me. “
The last time we saw Cobblepot it looked pretty dead, but in a world where men can fly and billionaires do good, anything can happen. Maybe the Penguin was really, really hurt and will come back to threaten Keaton’s Batman once again.
Colin Farrell plays the Penguin in Matt Reeves’ new cover for the hated crusader, Batman. Not much is known about his view of the iconic supervillain, but we know he is not as monstrous as DeVito.
Farrell said he is only in five to six scenes of the upcoming action movie. “I’m only in it for five or six scenes,” he told Happy, Sad, Confused Podcast. “So I look forward to seeing the film because it will not be ruined by my presence. Really, it’s free for me. I will feel a little uncomfortable for the nine minutes I have, and after the rest, I look forward to seeing how [Reeves] brought this world to life “.
Penguin’s prominent position in marketing suggests that, despite his brief appearance, he can play an important role in the film. Not only that, the Penguin gets its own TV prequel that shows how Cobblepot became the rogue criminal.
