Social comedy Dasvi released today on Jio Cinema and Netflix. Starring Abhishek Bachchan, Yami Gautam Dhar and Nimrat Kaur, the film has attracted attention since its trailer was released. Abhishek Bachchan playing the role of illiterate Ganga Prime Minister Ram Chaudhary has been praised. The character expresses a lot of funny one-liners and is one of the highlights of the film.
Dasvi: Abhishek Bachchan addresses Russian President Vladimir Putin as “Putni”, Joe Biden as “Joe Badan” and Justin Trudeau as “Tridev”
Such a dialogue that Abhishek Bachchan cracks at the beginning of the film is particularly interesting. At his entrance, Ganga Ram Chaudhary appears to be shooting for a fitness challenge video. Ganga Ram does some exercises and then challenges Russian President Vladimir Putin, United States President Joe Biden and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trinto to meet the challenge.
Strangely, he mispronounces Vladimir Putin’s name as Putin! Meanwhile, he addresses Joe Biden as Joe Badan. And it’s not just that. He forgets the name Trinto at first and then calls him Tridev!
Another real life person referred to in Dasvi is Deepika Padukone. In one scene, Abhishek Ganga character Ram Chaudhary tries to learn English grammar. His assistant helps him learn an active and passive voice. The assistant reads a sentence in an active voice and Ganga Ram responds in a passive voice. Then the stickler, while reading a sentence in an active voice, says, “Ranveer loves Deepika.” Instead of answering in a passive voice, Ganga Ram smiles and says: “Everyone loves Deepika”!
This scene had already been shown in the trailer and naturally caught everyone’s attention, including this Deepika Padukone. She reacted lovingly to it. Through her social media, the actress shared the trailer of her story and wrote: “Thanks to the #Dasvi team for LOVE! I wish the best guys!”
It remains to be seen whether Vladimir Putin, Joe Biden and Justin Trinto will react similarly to Abhishek Bachchan’s new appearance!
