Military drama SEAL team recently renewed for a sixth season at Paramount +, his new home after four seasons on CBS. And now, there’s even more big news, as it was announced during the Paramount’s Investors Day presentation that CBS Studios is developing a series-based film. With this, David Boreanaz celebrates the big announcement.
David Boreanaz, known as Master Chief Jason Hayes SEAL teamhurried to note the exciting news in his own Instagram. Not much is known about the upcoming film, except that it will be a standalone project that will not be linked to the 5th or 6th season. Following the news, Boreanaz said excitedly:
It will definitely be interesting to see what exactly SEAL team However, the film is all about, if David Boreanaz is excited about it, there is definitely something special planned. Hopefully we will have more news about the film in the coming months. I’m particularly curious to know about the cast list, as I hope everyone in the series repeats their roles.
Although the SEAL Team movie is a standalone movie, I would assume that fans can at least expect Easter eggs that refer to previous events from the show. There is also the issue of where the film will be made on schedule. As it is a standalone story, it could end up being played at some point in the past, which opens the door to new characters.
Apart from the movie, there are many more things to consider when it comes to the upcoming sixth season. Season 5 finale ended in a cliffhanger, who saw Bravo’s ambush and get trapped before being shot from all sides. At the time, David Boreanaz was unsure but “optimistic” that the show would return and, based on this finale, I’m very happy to see more.
The revelation of not just a sixth season but a movie is a change of pace for fans and the cast. Last year, it took some time for any news to be confirmed for a possible season 5, even with CBS announcing wave updates. But the cast and fans remained optimistic and campaigned. The future is definitely bright for this franchise, and it will be exciting to see what awaits us. And of course, I look forward to seeing how David Boreanaz continues to lead this series.
Fingers crossed that more news about SEAL team will be announced soon, but for now, I’m glad to get even more from the Bravo team! To keep you busy, make sure you stream all five seasons at Paramount + and take a look at CinemaBlend’s winter and spring TV show for 2022 to see what else to catch!
