House of the Dragon star Milly Alcock will be Supergirl in James Gunn and Peter Safran's DC Universe.
Alcock, who is best known for playing the young Rhaenyra Targaryen in the spin-off series Game of Thrones, also had a major role in the TV series Upright. He has also appeared in 2018's The School and several TV shows such as The Gloaming and Reckoning.
According Deadline, it is unknown when the actress will first appear in the DCU despite rumors of the character appearing in Superman: Legacy. It's only confirmed that the character will appear in a DCU project before starring in her own feature film, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow.
“We see the difference between Superman, who was sent to Earth and raised by loving parents from the time he was an infant, versus Supergirl, who grew up on a rock, a chip from Krypton, and watched everyone around her die and be killed. . terrible ways for the first 14 years of her life and then she came to Earth when she was a young lady,” Gunn said last year of the project. “She's a lot tougher. it's not quite the Supergirl we're used to seeing.”
Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow will be based on Tom King's 2022 comic book series, illustrated by Bilquis Evely. There is no word yet on who will direct the film.
