A new trailer for Taapsee Pannu starrer Dobaaraa is out. Directed by Anurag Kashyapthe film follows Taapsee’s character who struggles to differentiate the past from the present.

The trailer shows Pavail Gulati, who plays a police officer, trying to help Taapsee understand the situation. An old television seems to be the gateway that connects the past with the present.

At work with Taapsee Pannu, Anurag Kashyap told indianexpress.com, “Women are easier to work with and easier to deal with. Male insecurity is much greater. I find it easier to work with a Taapsee Pannu, Saiyami Kher or Amruta Subhash. I have great confidence in them! I can’t work if I don’t have confidence. When male actors are young, they give you all the confidence but slowly their insecurities start to creep in. I have seen many people change, with success and failure. Taapsee stayed the same.”

Dobaaraa marks the second collaboration between Taapsee and Anurag. The duo had earlier worked together in the 2018 film Manmarziyaan, which also starred Abhishek Bachchan and Vicky Kaushal.

Actor Kubbra Sait, who previously worked with Anurag Kashyap in Sacred Games, took to Twitter to praise the film and its team. She tweeted, “#Dobaaraa is a mad maddddd movie. It’s crazy and it pulled me into 1996, right now… shook me into 2021… and blew me away with a compelling story and performances. A film that kept me on the edge of my seat until the very last moment.”

Anurag’s Dobaaraa is the Hindi adaptation of the 2018 Spanish film Mirage and will hit theaters on August 19.
