Dylan O’Brien’s comments on Teenage Wolf The film comes almost a month after reports that Arden Cho left her due to a huge pay cut.
About a month ago, Paramount + officially announced the cast for the upcoming Teenage Wolf revival film, which will include the return of Tyler Posey, Crystal Reed, Holland Roden, Colton Haynes, Shelley Hennig and others as their iconic characters.
As soon as the news broke, fans immediately noticed that three very important cast members were not included in the cast of the film: Dylan O’Brien, Arden Cho and Tyler Hoechlin.
Arden Cho missed the opportunity to return as Kira Yukimura after she was reportedly offered “half the salary per episode proposed to her three counterparts”. The Deadline report on Arden’s selection also stressed that she is the only “colored actress among the four female cast members of the cast.” Arden appeared as a regular in 44 episodes of the original series before leaving at the end of Season 5.
In fact, Arden wrote on Twitter to a fan who reported that Dylan supported Arden’s choice to reject the film, saying, “He’s good.”
And now, while promoting his upcoming film The uniformDylan finally referred to the reason he does not return as Stiles Stilinski Teen Wolf: The Movie.
“It was a difficult decision. A lot went,” Dylan said he told Variety in a recent interview. “The show could not be dearer to me.”
“It was the first thing I ever did and so many people there are very dear to me. It was something I was trying to achieve, but it all happened very quickly. “We all love the show. We were trying to figure it out.”
Despite his immortal love for Stiles character and his gratitude for all the opportunities he was able to pursue due to Teenage WolfDylan felt it was better for himself and for the character if he sat outside the film.
He went on to say: “Finally, I just decided [Stiles’ story] it stayed in a very good place for me and I still want to leave it there “.
If you need an upgrade, Teenage Wolf ended up with Stiles starting an FBI internship only to find out that his task force was watching Derek. Eventually, Styles and Derek returned to the Beacon Hills to help Scott and his teammates during the series finale.
Dylan ended his discussion on Teenage Wolf movie, saying, “I wish them well and I will see her the first night she comes out. I hope it hits her ass, but I will not be in it.”
Honestly, as much as I would love to see Dylan as Stiles again, I like that he made the decision that he did not want the film to ruin the perfect ending of his character. Now I will sit here and I hope the movie does not ruin the relationship between Styles and Lydia …
