European Film Promotion has elected a new board, adding two new members: Christian De Schutter, managing director of Flanders Image and Rastislav Steranka, director of the National Film Center of the Slovak Film Institute.
The 37 national film institutes of the European Film Promotion (EFP) elected them to the board at a General Assembly held in Cannes.
The board of directors has seven members, with a two-year term.
Five of the current members were re-elected to the board, including: Simone Baumann, CEO of German Films, as the new vice-president of EFP. Daniela Elstner, executive director of UniFrance. Eda Koppel, head of marketing at the Estonian Film Institute. Stine Oppegaard, director of international relations for feature films at the Norwegian Film Institute. and Markéta Santrochová, head of the Czech Film Center, who was re-elected president of the EFP.
EFP promotes European cinema and talent at key film festivals and markets. It runs programs such as Producers On The Move in Cannes, European Shooting Stars in Berlin as well as the Film Sales Support funding program for global sales companies. Its members include film promotion institutes from 37 countries from Europe. The EFP is financially supported by the Creative Europe – MEDIA Program and its member organisations.
“As a member of such a great European network, I am delighted to serve another term on the EFP Board of Directors and am very honored to be re-elected as EFP President,” said Santrochová.
She added: “I am very proud of this network. We have realized that we can start and make many things happen together. It’s even more gratifying to be able to exchange ideas again on the spot at festivals after the pandemic that has bound and united us even more.”
