Cars have played a huge role in Bollywood movies all these years. There are many iconic models that have been featured in movies in recent years. Here is a closer look at it:
- Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara– 1949 Buick Super Convertible. This model is said to have been used in World War II and is a rare model, adding to its charm. The convertible was used spectacularly in this super successful road movie, especially in the song Khwabon Ke Parindey.
- Haathi Mere Saathi– Chevrolet Impala Convertible- This iconic 1971 Rajesh Khanna and Tanuja movie had a Chevrolet Impala Convertible driven by the actress. There is a charming song where the car is pushed in front of the elephants. This was a three-speed manual gearbox equipped with an 189-horsepower Chevy.
- Dil Chahta Hai– Mercedes Benz 300 SL Convertible- Farhan Akhtar made this cult film in 2001, starring Aamir Khan, Akshaye Khanna and Saif Ali Khan. The road trip to Goa was made by them with this wonderful Mercedes Benz SL 300 Convertible. The design itself is attractive, with the huge logo, the rectangular headlights and the overall look that sweeps the wind. The car appeared extensively throughout the film and caught the attention of many enthusiasts as a result.
- Taarzan The Wonder Car– DC Design Taarzan- This 2004 film gave Bollywood one of its most unique cars of all time! DC Designs made this custom-built vehicle called the Taarzan in the movie, which was reportedly priced at more than a couple of crores at the time! This futuristic vehicle came out of a Toyota MR2 and offered 135-250 horsepower in fact, operating in a hybrid configuration. Purple was another great attraction.
