John Krasinski and Ryan Reynolds’ new movie IF it’s already a hit with fans.
This sweet drama follows a young girl named Bea (The Walking Dead‘s Cailey Fleming) in a tumultuous personal moment. She unexpectedly starts seeing abandoned imaginary friends everywhere, like her neighbor Cal (Reynolds), and together they try to reunite these orphaned “ANs” with their former children.
Following the release of previews this week, social media is now abuzz with early reactions.

Fortunately for director Krasinski and his surprisingly impressive cast – many of IF’s cartoons are voiced by Hollywood heavyweights like Matt Damon, George Clooney and Emily Blunt – the general consensus seems to be a big thumbs up.
A user X wrote: “#IFMovie is adorable! It’s a sweet, honest movie full of heart and emotion that will make you glow. @johnkrasinski’s direction is solid and @VancityReynolds is as great as ever, but Cailey Fleming whose standout here she is. It’s honestly a ton of fun, with great characters and a neat story that I really enjoyed!”
In the meantime, another fan review praised its “pure, beautiful and loving” story that touches all our emotions.

Equally pleased with what they had seen in the cinema, a third person was added: “#IFMovie is an absolute treat, a family film that has it all. It’s an absolute joy from start to finish.
“Caley Fleming gives an incredible performance in a heartwarming and touching film for all, @johnkrasinski wrote and directed a film that will become a family favorite.”
Someone else mentioned an authentic beauty in the upcoming film, though “it might feel a little disjointed at first.”
“Its humor and heart are firmly in the right place, and Krasinski sure knows how to pull off the emotions when needed,” they continued to share.
IF opens in theaters May 17, with screenings May 11 and 12.
