The first trailer for Elliott Page’s new film Near you has landed.
The Umbrella Academy The actor stars in the film as Sam, who hasn’t been home to visit his family since his transition.
“After four years in Toronto, he makes a busy trip back to his hometown for his father’s birthday,” reads the official synopsis. “Once he gets there, he deals with unresolved wounds and reconnects with an old flame.”

Other cast members include Wendy Crewson, Peter Outerbridge, Janet Porter, Alex Paxton-Beesley, Daniel Maslany and David Reale.
Near you was first announced last year, with the film’s director Dominic Savage sharing in a statement at the time: “It was a remarkable experience working with Elliot Page on this very special and unique film about love, identity and the family.
“I am so proud of what we accomplished with the film. It was an honor to work with Elliott to bring this very moving, personal and important story to life and to the screen.”

Elsewhere, Paige is set to return as Victor Hargreaves for The Umbrella Academyfourth and final season on August 8.
Previously teasing what to expect from the latest installment of the hit Netflix show, Page said: “I’m not allowed to say anything, but it’s going to be, as usual, a lot of fun, classic Hargreaves mayhem and crossover.”
Also returning for the final season are Tom Hopper as Luther, Aidan Gallagher as Five, Robert Sheehan as Klaus, Emmy Raver-Lampman as Allison, David Castañeda as Diego and Justin H Min as Ben.
Ritu Arya and Colm Feore will also reprise their respective roles as Lila and Sir Reginald, while Parks and Recreation Stars Nick Offerman and Megan Mullally have joined the cast as college doctors Gene and Jean Thibedeau.
Near you arrives in US theaters on August 16. A UK release date has yet to be announced. The Umbrella Academy Seasons 1-3 are streaming now on Netflix, with Season 4 premiering on August 8.
