It’s a good time to be a horror fan, as the rebirth of the genre has resulted in some of them best horror movies returns to the halls with new sequels. One of the most recent examples of this trend is the new one Scream film, which was a huge success when it hit theaters in January. A sequel quickly got the green light and now four actors have been confirmed for their return as the first synopsis reaches the internet.
The last Scream directs the film Ready or not directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, who created a new story with deep ties to Wes Craven’s first four films. Ghostface left a staggering number of survivors alive and four of them were confirmed to have returned for Scream 6. That is, the two sets of brothers: Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega who played Sam and Tara Carpenter and Jasmin Savoy Brown and Mason Gooding who played Mindy and Chad Meeks-Martin. The first synopsis of the film assumes that this quartet is ready, which says:
While this news is exciting, the bigger question is Scream 6The cast remains in the air. That is, the franchise heroes Neve Campbell and Courteney Cox return as Sidney Prescott and Gale Weathers respectively? Crossed fingers, as it is difficult to imagine a Scream movie without them.
For their part, Neve Campbell seems to be in touch with the people behind the growing sixth Scream film. The last we heard from iconic Vessel actor, was waiting to get a script for the new slasher. Hopefully this process goes as planned and we will be able to see the two OGs of the franchise back on the big screen. This is especially true after David Arquette’s Dewey was killed in the last sequel.
Still, the four actors who were recently confirmed for Scream definitely made a big impression on the fans during the last movie. The audience was excited that Randy’s niece and nephew were in the cast as the twins and his sister from Scream 3 (Heather Matarazzo) even returned for a short scene. Melissa Barrera’s Sam ended up being the daughter of Billy Loomis and Jenna Ortega has proven to be a modern queen of screaming with roles in plays like Χand The Babysitter 2.
From the first synopsis, the next Scream movie can be removed from the iconic Woodsboro setting. Wes Craven did this in the first two sequels, which followed Sidney in college and Los Angeles respectively. Given the bloodbath that took place in Scream 5I can not blame the two pairs of brothers who wanted to escape the dodge.
The sixth Scream The film is expected to hit theaters sometime in 2023. so the development process may need to be accelerated. Hopefully we will hear about the roles of Neve Campbell and Courteney Cox soon. In the meantime, take a look at the 2022 movie release dates to plan your next movie experience.
