After a huge success at the box office and PVOD, animated adventure Puss in Boots: The Last Wish has set a stream date and it’s just around the corner!
According to Deadline, DreamWorks’ latest Shrek The spin-off will be available to stream on Peacock from March 10.
The Last Wish was a critical success (sitting at 95% on Rotten Tomatoes) and has grossed over $444 million worldwide since its release just before Christmas. The film’s official PVOD numbers have not been released, but it remained at the top of these charts for several weeks in January and remains in the Top 10.
Directed by Joel Crawford, Puss in Boots: The Last Wish is the first film to come out of the Shrek universe in over a decade, teaming up with daring feline outlaw Puss in Boots (Antonio Banderas) as he discovers that his passion for danger and disregard for safety have taken their toll.
Puss has burned eight of his nine lives, and recovering them will send him on his grandest quest yet, heading out to find the fabled Wishing Star deep in the Black Forest. Along for the ride is his former partner and nemesis – the seductive Kitty Softpaws (Salma Hayek Pinault) – as well as the mischievous, chatty, relentlessly happy face, Perrito (Harvey Guillén). And together, our trio of heroes must stay one step ahead of Goldi (Florence Pugh) and the Three Bears Crime Family, Jack Horner (John Mulaney) and the terrifying bounty hunter, the big, bad Wolf ( Wagner Moura).
The Last Wish would serve as a more than satisfying final outing for Puss, but we’d say it’s only a matter of time before another sequel is announced!
