Harry Styles’ mother has hit out at ‘excessive comments’ about her son’s latest film ‘Don’t Worry My Love’.

Anne Twist posted a glowing review of Olivia Wilde’s psychological thriller, in which her hit-man son As It Was plays workaholic Jack Chambers, and the comments section was flooded with nasty remarks about the film.

Her post read: “First time in French cinema… first day showing… Don’t worry my love you were great!

“Loved it from start to finish. Well done @oliviawilde and team for bringing us in, well done baby @harrystyles for being a great Jack. Very proud as usual.”

Anne has since taken to her Instagram Story to share how “sad” she is to see so much negativity hurled at the film and its cast, which also includes Florence Pugh and Chris Pine.

She wrote: “If you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all.

“I’m surprised and saddened by the upbeat comments here to be honest. I enjoyed a movie. If it’s not your cup of tea, don’t go…”

And he concluded: “If you don’t like me… please don’t follow me. Simple.”

Her post comes days after Olivia addressed the ‘weird rumour’ that Harry spat at Chris.

Video recently went viral of the Late Night Talking singer and his co-star at the premiere of their film at the Venice Film Festival, with many speculating that Harry spat at Chris.

However, a representative for the latter dismissed online accusations that the 28-year-old star spat as he sat next to his 42-year-old co-star before the screening.

Harry continued to mock the spit-gate during his concert in New York.

And the director – who is also Harry’s girlfriend – has spoken out about the ‘drama’.

Speaking on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Olivia said: “Another one of our weird Spit-Gate rumors that you might have heard about is I think…”

Then Cobert leaned in firmly and asked, “Harry Styles spat on Chris Pine, why or why not? Support your answer.’

Laughing, Olivia replied, “No, she didn’t.

“But I think it’s a perfect example that people will look for drama anywhere they can. Harry didn’t spit on Chris, actually…”

The host then teased his guest by adding: “Only time will tell.”

Olivia smiled, “No, she really didn’t.”

Chris’s representative said in a statement: “This is a ridiculous story – a complete fabrication and the result of a bizarre online illusion that clearly deceives and allows for silly speculation.

“To be clear, Harry Styles did not spit on Chris Pine.”

The clip sparked rumors of a rift between the pair.

But the spokesperson confirmed they have “nothing but respect” for each other and speculation was rife.

The spokesman added: “There is nothing but respect between these two men and any suggestion to the contrary is a blatant attempt to create drama that simply does not exist.”

As Harry marked his landmark 10th concert at the New York venue on September 7, the former One Direction star joked about the spat fiasco.

He told the crowd: “This is our 10th concert at Madison Square Garden, it’s great, great, great to be back here.

“I just went to Venice to spit on Chris Pine, but never fear, we’re back!”
