by Stewart Cole

For Valentine’s Weekend, Apple TV + premieres today The Sky is Everywhere. Based on the novel YA by Jandy Nelson, this is the latest film from Apple’s collaboration with A24. Directed by Josephine Decker.

In the film, the protagonist Lenny Walker is a 17-year-old teenager who has just suffered the catastrophic loss of her older sister. She has musical talent and ambition but has not yet composed her own music.

At school, a young charismatic boy appears on stage, Joe Fontaine. Lenny is naturally attracted to him. Lennie travels in love and loss as she begins her first real relationship and is inspired to write her first original song.
