However, it is interesting to note that Sonu Nigam, despite lending his voice to the track, was not too impressed with the end result. In a shocking interaction, while speaking to an FM station, Sonu did not hold back from expressing his frustration. He referred to “Chiggy Wiggy” as a poorly performed song and was particularly troubled by the choice of song for someone of Kylie Minogue’s international fame. He felt that the cooperation with Kylie it should have been better used to create something more memorable.
Sonu said, “I appreciate that Rahman he considered me for this part. However, when you have an international figure like Kylie Minogue, the song has to meet global standards.” He also hinted at the fact that even someone as talented as Rahman is not immune to making occasional lapses in judgement. Despite his reservations about the song, he tried to bring it to life during his live performances and tried to improvise and experiment.
On the other hand, Kylie Minogue’s effort with Bollywood through this film she became an overnight sensation in India. Recalling her experience, Kylie in a conversation once mentioned how working with AR Rahman was a unique experience. Although the style was different from what she was used to, she was pleasantly surprised by the lasting memory it left her fans with.
