Ranveer Singh is the latest actor to share his opinion on the ongoing debate between Bollywood & South films. It all started when Kichcha Sudeep said that Hindi is no longer our national language. Ajay Devgn disagreed with his statement and this started the much-discussed controversy. Now, actor Jayeshbhai Jordaar has broken his silence and below is what he has to say.

In recent years, many Southern films have been welcomed into mainstream showbiz. Films such as Jersey, Arjun Reddy, among others, have been re-created in Hindi after their huge success in regional cinema. On the other hand, there have been Pan Indian releases such as RRR, Pushpa and Beast and introductions to actors such as Jr NTR, Allu Arjun and Thalapathy Vijay among others.

Breaking his silence about the language debate, Ranveer Singh told Bollywood Life: “I saw Pushpa, I do not speak Telugu. I saw RRR, I do not speak the language – but I was in awe of these films and the art. I can only say that I appreciate the excellence in the crafts that the films have shown and I am very proud of how great they are and how they have been accepted by different types of audiences. It makes me very, very proud because I have never seen such movies like others. Yeh toh sab apna hi hai, yaar, (are all our movies, my friend)? Indian cinema ek hai (Indian cinema is one) “.

Ranveer Singh also added, “You see, I’m an artist and I do not have as much knowledge about film business as I am neither a professional nor a producer. I am a paid professional, I get paid to show my art in front of the camera and my knowledge is limited to that. So, just from a personal point of view, I can say that these films (Southern films dubbed in Hindi and marketed as pan-Indian films) are actually wonderful films as well, yes.

On the professional front, Ranveer Singh will then appear in Jayeshbhai Jordaar.
