Director Karan Johar announced his new directorial venture on his 52nd birthday on Saturday, May 25. He shared the update on social media. Karan is yet to decide on the title of the film.
On Saturday, Karan shared a picture of himself holding a notebook which reads, “Untitled Narration Draft. Directed by Karan Johar. 25 May 2024.” The director captioned his Instagram post, “Getâ€æ Setâ€æ. Go!” and added a heart emoji.
As Karan announced the project, Ayesh Shroff exclaimed, “Woooooohooooo!! (sic)”, while Maheep Kapoor posted clapping emojis in the comments section. Several Instagram users also expressed their desire to see Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol together on screen again. Some even suggested the reunion of ‘Shershaah’ couple Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani on screen.
Earlier in the day, pictures of Karan leaving for his birthday celebration in South Mumbai were shared online. The director was treated to a surprise by his close friends as they threw him a party, which was attended by Kajol, Anil Kapoor, Farah Khan and others.
Many others wished KJo on his birthday on social media. Kareena Kapoor Khan shared a picture of Karan and wrote, “On your birthday, I’m giving you two tickets to Legoland. You and I, we love you so much. Happy birthday my Kjo @karanjohar (sic).” Malaika Arora also wished Karan on his birthday and wrote, “Happy bday you sexy boiii…@karanjohar…love u loadssss (sic).”
The last time Karan stepped into the director’s chair was for the 2023 film, ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’. The film starred Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh, along with Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan and Shabana Azmi in pivotal roles.
