Kashmir Files has entered ₹100 crore club at the box office and also recorded its highest daily retrieval to date, ₹19.15 million A week after its release, the film is now on par with Baahubali 2 compared to its eighth collection. Directed by Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri, it hit theaters last Friday. Kashmir Files is based on the departure of the Kashmiri Pandits who lived in the Kashmir Valley in the 1990s. The Kashmir Files include Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, Pallavi Joshi, Darshan Kumaar, Chinmay Mandlekar and Bhasha Sumbli. The film was released in theaters on March 11. It has been declared tax-free in many states, including Uttar Pradesh, Tripura, Goa, Haryana and Uttarakhand.
The Hindustan Times film reviewer wrote: “Cinematographer Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri makes it clear from the word go that his film, The Kashmir Files, will not be thin. A shocking watch is based on the plight of the Kashmiri Pandits who suffered a massacre and forced evacuation by Islamist militants. “
