KJo, Guneet Monga team up for Hindi adaptation of French classic ‘The Intouchables’

Karan Johar and Guneet Monga have joined forces for the Hindi adaptation of the French classic ‘The Intouchables’. This marks the fourth collaboration between the two cinematic powerhouses, following the smash hit of their maiden production, ‘KILL’, which made waves following its World Premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival last month.

KARAN JOHAR-GUNEET MONGA REUNION FOR A NEW PROJECT

Karan Johar and Guneet Monga have teamed up again for the Hindi adaptation of ‘The Intouchables’. The film is to be directed by Collin D’Cunha, and is part of a wider creative synergy announced in May 2023 between Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and Guneet Monga Kapoor’s Sikhya Entertainment.
The Intouchables, originally released in 2011 and directed by ‰ric Toledano and Olivier Nakache, received widespread acclaim for its moving narrative and outstanding performances by François Cluzet and Omar Sy in the lead roles. The Hindi adaptation aims to recreate the magic of the original while adding a unique twist that resonates with Indian audiences.

Commenting on this exciting venture, Karan Johar expressed his excitement, saying, “Working on Intouchables is a creative challenge and an exciting opportunity. Guneet Monga Kapoor shared her excitement, stating, “The Untouchables is iconic and one of the most famous films around the world. It is very exciting to be able to bring it to Indian and Hindi audiences. After a high-octane, action-packed KILL, we get our hands on the dramedy that hints at the spectrum of our collaboration with Dharma that we’re incredibly excited about!”

Directed by ‰ric Toledano and Olivier Nakache, The Intouchables won widespread acclaim for its moving narrative and outstanding performances by François Cluzet and Omar Sy in key roles.
