A new version of the action method.
The Barbie madness has begun, and Margot Robbie she is so dedicated to proving that she is, in fact, a Barbie girl in a world of Barbie who can’t stop wearing a carefully curated collection of Mattel-esque looks. With less than a month to go until its release date (the highly-anticipated film hits theaters on July 21), Robbie has hit the press circuit, jet-setting around the world to promote Greta Gerwig’s new film (not that it needs more exposure). And her look is so Barbie-approved that it’s almost impossible not to get a wave of nostalgia when you see new photos of the star.
On Tuesday, the actress was spotted touching down in Sydney, Australia, wearing a vintage Chanel look that included a cropped pink (of course) tweed jacket layered over a white bra and paired with high-waisted beige pants and black. tan slingback heels. For accessories, she added a black belt with a gold buckle embossed with the Chanel logo, a tiny black bag and matching sunglasses that looked straight out of Barbie’s vintage wardrobe. But perhaps the most notable and recognizable part of the ensemble was her retro pink leather luggage, reminiscent of a tiny doll’s suitcase. She wore her straight blonde hair parted in the middle and nailed her Barbie make-up, which included matte skin and purple lips.
She later gave the pink a break and slipped into a yellow Chanel tweed two-piece set paired with a white faux fur bag and matching Christian Louboutin peep toe slides that really looked like doll shoes. She accessorized with a chic ankle boot, double C earrings and tortoiseshell sunnies. Her stylist Andrew Mukamal shared a snap of the outfit on his Instagram Story.

While promoting the film in an interview with film giant Fandango, Robbie explained that viral foot moment from the trailer and the process behind the life of this scene.
“It probably took about eight takes, it wasn’t that many,” he told TikTok. “It’s my legs. I went up, they had little sticky pieces on the floor, like double sided tape, for the shoes so they wouldn’t come off to get my feet out of them. I was holding on to a bar, but that’s about it. I wasn’t on a leash or anything.”
