Anthony Mackey puts his money where he’s home.
The New Orleans-born actor who now wears the Captain America mantle at the Marvel Cinematic Universe made a deal on Friday to buy 20 acres of land in East New Orleans. The site is believed to be home to East Studios LLC, a Mackie movie studio, as well as multiple sources he told the local news agency NOLA.com.
Any details beyond that are unknown at this time, although Mackie has leveraged his success at Marvel in recent years to take on a higher profile role in the projects he has been associated with. He was considered the executive producer in the science fiction film of 2019 Ιωand has been involved as a producer in two more recent flow projects – The Banker on Apple TV + and Out of the wire on Netflix.
Maki is also set to starring and executive production Twisted metala comedy that redefines the classic car battle video game series for Peacock that makes him work with Deadpool writer / director Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. He may also continue to make a biographical film about the celebrity lawyer Johnnie Cochran who called Signal Hillbut there is not much news about it from 2017.
The Maki family already has a large presence in New Orleans, including a long history of supporting the city. Anthony specifically said that the 2008 catastrophe that the city faced after Hurricane Katrina pushed him to go home and invest in the success of his city.

“I loaded my truck, returned to New Orleans, built a house,” he said. 2011 interview with The guardian.
