Since the remarkable success of the first two films in Ti West’s X films, expectations are much higher for MaXXXine, which is set to hit the theaters in July 2024. This success has prompted the makers to add some fresh faces to the cast, which will be immediately familiar to most viewers. The cast of MaXXXine promises to add some star power to the slasher franchise.

Placed six years after the massacre in his heart X, Mia Goth once again stars as Maxine Minx, an aspiring actress seeking fame and fortune in Hollywood. This time, it’s the 1980s that’s the setting for the inevitable carnage to come, and Goth joins a whole new cast of potential victims as her character is stalked by the infamous Night Stalker.

With Goth being the only returning actor from X (because Maxine is the only surviving character) there are plenty of new faces to slice and dice on the big screen. The cast of MaXXXine includes:

  • A Goth as Maxine Minx
  • Elizabeth Debicki as Elizabeth Bender
  • Michelle Monaghan as an LAPD detective
  • Bobby Cannavale as an LAPD detective
  • Lily Collins as Molly Bennett
  • Giancarlo Esposito
  • Kevin Bacon
  • Sophie Thatcher
  • Halsey
  • Moses Sumney

For the first time in the X franchise, this is unlikely Pearl – the murderous old woman also played by Mia Goth – will be the focus of the carnage. The film hints at the involvement of the Night Stalker, a real-life serial killer named Richard Ramirez who operated in Los Angeles during the time MaXXXine is set.

MaXXXine is slated to hit theaters on July 5, 2024.
