Movies in New Westminster: Catch a sing-along Mamma Mia

by Stewart Cole

Brush up on the ABBA tunes and come out for a screening to support the school’s upcoming Shrek the Musical.

Honey, honey, if you dream of being prom queen, then get ready to pour all your love into New Westminster Secondary School’s musical theater program tomorrow night.

The program hosts a sing-long screening of it Mamma mia! in the theater at NWSS (620 Eighth St.) on Friday, January 6 from 5 to 7 p.m.

Candy, popcorn, soft drinks and other treats will be available for purchase.

The screening of the film is by donation, with a minimum donation of $2.

But, if you would like to support the production of the NWSS musical theater program Shrek the Musicalare coming to the scene this March, so be a super bandwagoner and get ready to shell out money, money, money — because when it’s all said and done, if you give them a chance, they’ll be able to thank you for the music.

Mamma mia, that’s a lot of pointless ABBA song references! Time to stop now or the newsroom will send out an SOS as what’s left of my journalistic credibility continues to slip through my fingers…
