Karan Johar Dharma Productions has announced a cricket film called Mr And Mrs Mahi. The new play stars Janhvi Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao. This would mark their second collaboration after Roohi. The film is directed by Sharan Sharma, who directed Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl.

Janhvi Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao and Karan Johar announced the film on their respective social media. They shared a teaser that revealed the names of both actors in the film. While Janhvi will play Mahima, Rajkummar plays Mahendra.

While Rajkummar shared a similar caption, Janhvi wrote: “Time to make it – it will be a journey of two hearts chasing a dream! Introducing #MrAndMrsMahi, coming to theaters near you on October 7, 2022. ”

Although the announcement of the film left the fans of the respective actors excited, many fans wondered if the film is based on the life of the Indian cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
“Based on MS Dhoni?” asked a fan in the comments section of the Dharma post about the film. “Is it another movie for MSD?” a fan asked Rajkummar. “Are you going to make a movie at MS Dhoni now? “Brother, we already love Sushant Singh Rajput #MSDhoniTheUntoldStory,” wrote another fan.
While fans speculate, neither Karan nor Rajkummar or Janhvi hinted that the film is based on MS Dhoni.

Meanwhile, Bollywood is preparing for two more cricket-based films this December. The first is Ranveer Singh ’83, based on India’s first victory in the Cricket World Cup in 1983. The second is Shahid Kapoor’s Jersey, a remake of a Telugu film of the same title.
