Netflix Schedule December 12-18: New TV and Movies

The latest work from two-time Academy Award winner Alejandro G. Iñárritu is on Netflix’s December 12-18 schedule.

On Friday, December 16, the streaming service will be added Bardo, Lies Chronicle of a Handful of Truths in its available content. Iñárritu (Birdman, The Revenant) directed the film from a script he co-wrote with Nicolás Giacobone. Mexican actor Daniel Giménez Cacho leads the film as Silverio Gama. The cast also includes Griselda Siciliani, Ximena Lamadrid, Francisco Rubio and more.

“Described as an epic, visually stunning and immersive experience, the film is set against the intimate and moving journey of Silverio, a renowned Mexican journalist and documentary maker living in Los Angeles, who, after being named the recipient of a prestigious international award. , is forced to return to his homeland, unaware that this simple journey will push him to an existential edge,” the synopsis reads.

“The nonsense of his memories and fears decided to permeate the present, filling his everyday life with a sense of confusion and wonder. With both emotion and plenty of laughs, Silverio wrestles with universal yet intimate questions about identity, success, mortality, Mexican history, and the deeply emotional family ties he shares with his wife and children. Indeed, what it means to be human in these very strange times.’

Darius Khondji (Okja) served as cinematographer for Bardo, Lies Chronicle of a Handful of Truthswith Oscar winner Eugenio Caballero as production designer and Anna Terrazas as costume designer.
