I’m so thankful I made it this weekend, I’m ready to hit the theaters and watch a new Dracula movie. Below, we share the best new movies to watch in theaters and available on streaming services that you won’t want to miss.
In the day and age of streaming, the number of movies released on a weekly basis is astronomical. That’s why we try every Friday to narrow down the list of upcoming movies and bring them to you. We don’t add all the movies, but the ones you should be on the lookout for.
New movies to watch in theaters (and streaming) this weekend
- The Pope’s ExorcistIn theaters
- RenfieldIn theaters
- Mafia Mama, In theaters
- SuzumeIn theaters
- Sweet water, In theaters
- The Last Kingdom: Seven Kings Must Die, Netflix
Let’s get the elephant out of the room by talking about The Pope’s Exorcist. This is a movie I refuse to believe is real. Like Russell Crowe is the Pope, and this is based on the actual records of Father Gabriel Amorth? To stop. How? I have so many questions that I’m not sure will ever be answered. Speaking of movies that aren’t real, Mafia Mamma always hits theaters with Toni Collette playing Kristen, a woman who inherits her father’s mafia empire.
Ok, we have it for the biggest release of the weekend Renfield. Renfield, played by Nicholas Hoult, is Dracula’s (Nicolas Cage) henchman and inmate of the insane asylum. However, he has had enough of it and leaves Dracula to find a new lease on life. If we’re being honest, the movie had me in Nicolas Cage as Dracula. But factor in Awkwafina, Ben Schwartz, and the Chris McKay directed film, all of these things add up to be a fun time at the movies.
What will you be watching this weekend? Will you enjoy a movie in theaters or streaming?
