There are a number of Star Wars films currently in development, including Taika Waitit and Patty Jenkins’ untitled project Rogue Squadron.
Another untitled film from director Shawn Levy was added to the list Pink Panther and Night at the Museum reputation. No name, date or plot of this mysterious work has been revealed yet.
However, Levy gave fans a sneak peek at how the “bucket-list” offer landed in his lap in a recent chat with Total Film Magazine [via GamesRadar].
“Getting that call was a great day. I was in the editing room on All the Light We Cannot See, and I look at my phone and there it is [Lucasfilm president] Kathy Kennedy. Thus began a conversation that led to her inviting me to develop and make my Star Wars film. I’m putting everything into it because I love this world and it’s a privilege to be a part of this galaxy.”
Shawn Levy is credited as the writer, director and producer of the upcoming Deadpool 3 film starring Ryan Reynolds, with whom he has worked in the past Free Press and The Adam Project.
