December 12 (UPI) – New York Film Critics Online voted Netflix Dog Power the best photo of 2021.
The organization also presented six other Western awards.
Jane Cambion won Best Director and Best Screenplay for Best Director, while co-stars Benedict Cumberbatch and Kodi Smit-McPhee won Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor respectively.
The cast, which also featured Jesse Plemons and Kirsten Dunst, was named best ensemble and Ari Wegner won the best photography award.
Passage was another big winner with NYFCO.
Rebecca Hall won the Best Newcomer Award for Best Director for Netflix Drama, and Tessa Thompson and Ruth Nega won Best Actress and Best Actress, respectively, for their roles in the film.
Ariana DeBose was considered a Breakthrough Performer for her work at 20th Century Studios West Side Story, which also won the Best Music Use Award.
Drive My Car (Janus Films) was voted Best Foreign Language Month, Flee (New) Best Documentary and The Mitchells vs. The Machines (Netflix) won Best Animated Feature.
The 10 best movies of the group 2021 in alphabetical order are Belfast, Don’t Look Up, Dune, King Richard, Licorice Pizza, The Lost Daughter, Passing, Pig, The Power of the Dog and West Side Story.
