No Time To Die, the latest James Bond movie, is still shown on big screens around the world, but its creators have decided to allow fans to watch the movie in the comfort of their own home.
While there used to be a 45-day theatrical exclusivity in most movies, the pandemic meant that Hollywood studios had to rethink how they distribute their big movies.
Disney has tried many things. Pushing Black Widow to theaters and Disney Plus at the same time in Premium VOD, she also sent some of her keynote films straight to VOD – including Cruella.
We’ve also seen more art films, such as The Green Knight, show exclusively on Amazon Prime Video.
At present, however, one of the biggest marketing tricks is to use the phrase: “only in cinemas”. This is something that Ghostbusters: Afterlife and Spider-Man: No Way Home are pushing for, with the hope that people will let go of their worries and start watching movies on the big screen again.
And that brings us back to Not Time To Die. From today, you can watch the latest Bond movie through various services, such as Sky in the UK and Prime Video in the UK and US.
You will have to pay a premium for the privilege (15 15.99 / $ 19.99), but those who are not ready, for obvious reasons, to watch movies with a bunch of other people will be welcome.
If you are more of a physical disc collector, then the good news is that you can also purchase No Time To Die in 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD from December 20, 2021.
