Nushrat Bharuccha, who won acclaim with her debut in Pyaar Ka Punchnamahas been featured in the upcoming pan-Indian film Chatrapathi alongside Bellamkonda Sreenivas. He said that over the past few years, he has been exposed to a lot of content from the south and has been captivated by the world of cinema.
Nushrratt told indianexpress.com. “It’s not that it was important for me to do this film now, but I wanted to do something like that. When I was watching Baahubali, I was completely enveloped by the world. Their emotions, their conviction, the storytelling, everything felt so real. Then I felt like I would love to do something like that. And then a Rajamouli and Prabhas remake came my way, I said, Chalo, let’s do it.”
Nushrratt also went on to share her experience working with director VV Vinayak. He said, “I would have four dialogues in a scene, and he would only take two and tell me to forget the rest. I would wonder if he was editing my lines. And then in another scene, he would come and say take these dialogues now. So you might not know what he does, but he is very clear in his mind about what he wants from the actor. It also doesn’t take a lot of shots, which was a very new experience for me.”
When asked if she believes in fighting for the top spot, Nushrratt said, “You’re asking to be number one, there are also terms like Top 5 and Top 10. I don’t understand what that means. An actor either fits or he doesn’t. You have these girls and you check which one works best. You can’t go to those top 5 and cast between them. Yeh toh galat hoga (that would be wrong), what if none fit the part? Honestly, I’m not in any race, nor do I want to be on any list.”
Nushrratt believed that the success of a film is not only about posters but is supported by good work. He said, “I was told that poster aap pe acche nahi lagoge (You will not look good on posters). Guess what, are they making movies or just posters? You can never sell a movie on the value of the poster alone. So yeah, I hear a lot of these lingos and languages and that’s probably why I like working with new people. They can make Pyaar Ka Punchnama, Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2, Sonu Ki Sweety… and kill it. I think at the end of the day, if your work supports you, all these myths can be broken.”
Meanwhile, Nushrratt was recently seen in a cabin Tu Jhoothi hai Makkar. Except Chatrapathi, she has too Akelli and Chori 2 in the pipeline.
