Minced meat operation is an upcoming war film directed by John Madden and written by Michelle Ashford. The screenplay is based on the book of the same name by Ben Macintyre and follows the operation of the same name during World War II, which was an attempt at deception to hide the Allied invasion of Sicily.
Speaking about the new war drama, John Madden says: “Michelle Ashford’s screenplay combines multiple aspects and moods: tense, romantic, fascinating, unexpectedly funny and endlessly amazing. “It tells a rich human story of soldiers we rarely see fighting a different kind of war in the shadows and deception, haunted by the knowledge that certainty and guarantee of success are nowhere to be found.”

The film will be released next year and will hit theaters across the UK on January 7, 2022. The film will also be available for viewing via Netflix in North America.
What is the plot of “Operation Mincemeat”?
The film is based on unusually true facts where two intelligence officers used a corpse and fake papers to deceive German troops in 1943 during World War II.
During these events, the Allies are determined to launch a full-scale attack on Fortress Europe. But they face an impossible challenge: to protect a huge invading force from the established German firepower and prevent a possible massacre.
Speaking about the plot, director John Madden said: “In the context of World War II narratives, the story of Operation Mincemeat is unique – a strange and captivating cinematic mix of high-level espionage and ingenious fiction, where the stakes could hardly be it is higher “.
Who is in the cast of “Operation Mincemeat”?
Colin Firth leads the cast as Navy Intelligence Officer Evan Montagu. With him are Kelly Macdonald as Jean Leslie, Matthew Macfadyen as Charles Cholmondeley, Penelope Wilton as Hester Leggett, Johnny Flynn as writer Ian Fleming, Lorne MacFadyen as Roger Dearborn and Jason Isaacs as Navy Officer John Godfrey.
