by Shah Rukh Khan Pathan has created waves at the box office not only domestically but also globally. The YRF spy thriller, also starring Deepika Padukone and John Abraham, has taken a major leap at the box office and has already crossed the Rs 500 crore mark internationally with its opening weekend collection.
Pathaan’s box office collection in India was Rs 55 crore on Wednesday, Rs 68 crore on Thursday, Rs 38 crore on Friday, Rs 51.50 crore on Saturday, Rs 58.50 crore on Sunday and expected Rs 25 crore on Monday. In terms of global gross, Pathaan is expected to cross the Rs 600 crore mark today.
The Siddharth Anand directorial even managed to enter the list of top five grossers at the North American box office, quite an achievement for a film that has only seen five days on the big screen. Domestically, Pathaan has minted a figure of around 295 crores in 6 days. It also became the fastest Hindi film to enter the Rs 200 crore club, beating top players like KGF: Chapter 2 and Baahubali: The Conclusion.
After Shah Rukh greeted the fans from his home, Mannat, his team Pathan gathered at an event in Bombay to talk about the phenomenal success of the film. Shah Rukh, Deepika, John and director Siddharth Anand were present at the first press conference of Pathaan. The makers have decided not to promote the film before its release.
Pathaan is the comeback vehicle of Shah Rukh Khan, whose last film Zero had a poor run at the box office. Shah Rukh Khan has seemingly impressed everyone with his performance in the film and the film continues to move forward despite facing early hurdles and boycott calls from members of the right-wing establishment.
