The trailer of Rohit Shetty’s upcoming comedy Circus has generated different types of responses. This is true of almost all of his movies, especially if they happen to be of the comic book genre. The film stars Ranveer Singh, Varun Sharma, Pooja Hegde and Jacqueline Fernandez and is inspired by William Shakespeare’s classic play called The comedy of errors.

During a magazine launch event in Mumbai, Shetty said this Circus it is mainly aimed at a certain segment of the public. “Circus it’s for the audience he loved Golmaal and The best“, said the director. “It’s that kind of movie. This is for everyone who loved these movies. I’m sure they’ll love it because I’ve watched the movie.”

Looking back, Shetty is pleased with the way people admired his work. “When we started, I was just a director making movies. After the kind of love I got from the audience, it became their film. So now I make films for them, I take it as a responsibility,” he added.

Circus sees Ranveer and Varun in dual roles as they play a set of two identical twins who are separated at birth. Interestingly, at Shetty’s Bol BachchanAbhishek Bachchan’s character pretended to have a twin who looks exactly like him.

Circus is scheduled to hit theaters on December 23rd.
