Pooja Hegde hits out at those who call Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan a ‘South film’ | Bollywood

Pooja Hegde is creating a lot of buzz in Hindi films with her big release Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan. Directed by Farhad Samji, the masala entertainer stars Pooja opposite Salman Khan. In a chat with Hindustan Times, Pooja spoke about her expectations from the film ahead of its release. Pooja shared how she feels as the film approaches on Friday, “I’m excited and nervous. It’s probably a mixed bag of emotions. I hope people like me and my character.” One of Pooja’s last releases, Radhe Shyam, co-starring Prabhas, did not perform well at the box office. Next came Cirku, starring Ranveer Singh, which flopped seriously.

Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan hopeful Pooja Hegde has already won hearts with her adorable chemistry with Salman Khan in the trailer. Talking about her character, Pooja said, “I actually play an archaeologist. We basically wanted to play with my ‘bhai’ dialogue because he doesn’t know how to address Salman. Everyone calls him bye.”

Pooja and Salman shine in the trailer with their one-liners. Pooja feels that her equation with Salman came out effortlessly and naturally. Explaining what Salman Khan is like as a co-star, he said, “They call him bhaijaan. It was wonderful working with him. He’s so real and honest, he says what’s on his mind, and that’s something I love. He is transparent about his thoughts. He helped me while I was working on the film and vice versa.” She also said that she learned from him to be spontaneous on the sets.

He also recalled how food was a crucial part of shooting the film. “There was always a lot of food on set. Salman Khan is a foodie and my middle name is food. I live to eat. I just make sure I work out well.”

The trailer of Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan has already won hearts. However, a section of people also compared it with South Indian films. After Pooja shared the trailer on her Instagram account, a user commented, “Kis kis ko Bollywood nhi South ki movie lag rahi hai (this doesn’t look like a Hindi movie.” But, Pooja thought positively, “Our movie is relating to the South (India).”

“I am Telugu in the film. It is good that Indian cinema is now coming together as one. It must be so because in the film a girl from Hyderabad comes to Delhi. Enter a new place, two different worlds you will see.

“Since the girl is Telugu, we also showed Bathukamma in the film. It is a Telugu festival. There they sing in Telugu because it would be weird to show it in Hindi. So whatever is authentic in the script is done,” he added. She made it clear how she doesn’t mind these comparisons. Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan releases on Friday, on the occasion of Eid 2023.
