The slice-of-life story celebrates the unbreakable bond between siblings while exploring the challenges of pursuing one’s passion within family expectations. Ayush Mehra and Rajat Barmecha are also part of the film.
Produced by Jio Studios and Mango People Media, directed by Shubham Yogiproduced by Pranjal Khandhdiya and Neha Anand, Kacchey Limbu received critical acclaim with an official selection at the 2022 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), the Bangkok World Film Festival and the International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK) last year.
Set in the backdrop of Mumbai, the film chronicles the lives of brothers who are in rival cricket teams. As they try to balance their family loyalty with the pursuit of their passions, they embark on a journey that illuminates the unbreakable bond of brotherly love.
Radhika Madan recalled her experience while shooting the film and said, “Kacchey Limbu is a narrative story, so authentic in its approach, there was no way I could say no to it. My role as Aditi in the film instantly reminds me of some of the best days spent with my brother growing up.Be it us watching cricket together or our nok-jhok, every moment we experienced during the journey of the film resonated with me.Our director Shubham and the whole team did a great job to bring this movie to life, a story that needs to be told. There are so many Aditi’s out there who are bound by parental expectations and can’t achieve their dreams. This is for all of you to break the mold and try to achieve what your heart says. It’s a special film, I can’t wait for you all to pour your love in.”
Rajat Barmecha shared his excitement about the digital premiere and commented, “From Udaan to ‘Kacchey Limbu’, it’s been a long journey for me, fulfilling yet challenging, and it continues.
