Imperial premiere for 83 took place on Wednesday night, in the presence of many Bollywood celebrities. While social media has been filled with optimistic words about Ranveer Singh’s protagonist, videos of him and Deepika Padukone grooving together at an after party are winning hearts. Dancing at Diljit Dosanjh’s ‘Lover’ and Hardy Sandhu’s Bijlee Bijlee, the duo can be seen taking steps alongside co-stars Hardy and Sahil Khattar.
In the video, actor Ranveer joined Deepika on the track. Holding her in his arms, he danced with Hardy and Sahil, while Dipika matched steps, giving him charming glances. Paps caught them dancing Bijlee Bijlee even when saying goodbye to their guests.
On Thursday morning, director Karan Johar shared a post of respect after watching 83. Advertising Ranveer Singh for his transformation into Kapil Dev, the director wrote: “I saw myself believing that @ranveersingh had transformed into the Kapil Dev legend with the ease and genius of a veteran veteran! He is so good that he is almost unbelievable in so many places! Restraint and strength at the same time! He has hit it off the field! “My warmest congratulations to the entire cast, crew and all the proud producers of this wonderful film!”
The Bollywood director also composed his thoughts on director Kabir Khan and praised how he managed to successfully recreate the historic moment. “There is no room for film licenses and distortion of events for dramatic impact… which is exactly why # 83thefilm is such a monumental achievement…. It sucks you in that year… that World Cup, this team, this political climate, this crazy frenzy… I saw myself supporting every member of this historic team… Laughing and crying with each of them… I saw myself to take root for Kabir Khan and his master the ability to tell a story…. Taking on a painstaking task and perfecting it like a mega methodical teacher! “Greetings!” He wrote.
