The reviews are for the news of Steven Spielberg and Tony Kouchner West Side Story film. Adapted from the theatrical musical by Leonard Bernstein, Stephen Sondheim, Arthur Laurents and Jerome Robbins, the film hits theaters on December 10.
Ansel Elgort and Rachel Zegler star as Tony and Maria, respectively, with Tony nominee Ariana DeBose as Anita, winner Tony David Alvarez as Bernardo, Josh Andrés Rivera as Chino, nominee Tony Mike Faist as Riff, nominee Tony Brian d’Arcy James as Officer Krupke, Corey Stoll as Lieutenant Schrank and EGOT winner and protagonist of the original film Rita Moreno, who takes on the newly created role of Valentina.
Spielberg directs the adaptation written by Kouchner, with the new choreography by Justin Peck.

West Side StoryHis band includes orchestrator David Newman, supervising vocal producer Jeanine Tesori and executive music producer Matt Sullivan. A soundtrack will be released December 3.
