Zack Snyder took to Vero to announce that principal photography has now wrapped on his Seven Samurai-inspirational sci-fi adventure film, Rebel Moon.
The director also shared a first look at some footage, but the 15-second video is really more of a still than a clip! However, it does give us an idea of the amazing cinematography to expect, as actress Bae Doona stands in a meditative pose.
Watch the video below.
Snyder has often said that if given the opportunity to lead a Star Wars movie, would pay homage to the great Akira Kurosawa with an epic space adventure inspired by Seven Samurai, and now he has the chance to tell his story in a different galaxy far, far away. Snyder also wrote the project with Shay Hatten and Kurt Johnstad and will produce alongside Deborah Snyder, Wesley Coller for The Stone Quarry.
Rebel Moon Djimon Hounsou, Cary Elwes, Corey Stoll, Michiel Huisman, Alfonso Herrera, Charlie Hunnam, Ray Fisher, Stuart Martin, Jena Malone, Staz Nair, E. Duffy, Charlotte Maggi, Sky Yang and Anthony Hopkins also star. Sofia Boutella will star: “A young woman with a mysterious past seeks out warriors from neighboring planets to help a peaceful colony at the edge of the galaxy take a stand against the tyrannical regent Balisario.”
No premiere date has been announced, but we hear a teaser trailer may not be far off, so stay tuned to SFFGazette.com for updates.
