Richard E. Grant and Tom Ellis are the latest additions to Netflix The Thursday Murder Club film, based on the beloved series of novels by Richard Osman.
The recently released cast, along with Geoff Bell (Kingsman: The Secret Service, Top Boy), Paul Freeman (Tokyo trial, Raiders of the Lost Ark), Sarah Niles (Ted Lasso, F1), and Ingrid Oliver (Last Christmas, Doctor Who) join a star-studded cast including Helen Mirren, Pierce Brosnan, Ben Kingsley, Celia Imrie, David Tennant, Jonathan Pryce, Naomi Ackie, Daniel Mays and Henry Lloyd-Hughes.
The film, directed and written by Chris Columbus of Harry Potter fame, follows a group of friends in a nursing home who come together to solve murders for fun, but find themselves caught up in a real case. The four members of the club are played by Mirren (ex-spy Elizabeth), Kingsley (ex-psychiatrist Ibrahim) Brosnan (ex-trade unionist Ron) and Imrie (ex-nurse Joyce).
Osman’s book was a critical success and quickly became a classic among British crime thrillers.
It’s the latest project produced as part of Netflix and Amblin’s film partnership, which also includes the upcoming He continuedstarring Jason Bateman and Taron Egerton.
