The first look at the Norwegian director Tommy Vircolaof (Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters, Dead Snow franchise) new movie Violent Night was unveiled by Focus Features during CinemaCon tonight, with attendees complaining that the film appears to be a violent cult classic in the works. David Harbor (“Stranger Things”) starred as an evil Santa Claus!
Violent Night compared with Die hard from Harbor on the CinemaCon stage, the film focusing on Harbor Santa Claus rescuing a hostage family. The film is described as a violent action comedy, with John Leguizamo playing evil!
Check out some of Twitter reactions below as we wait for the video to hit the internet.
In the movie, “A group of select mercenaries invades a rich family complex on Christmas Eve, taking everyone hostage inside. “But the team is not prepared for a surprise fighter: Santa Claus (Port) is on the field and he is going to show why this Nick is not a saint.”
Beverly D’Angelo, Alex Haskell and Alexis Strong also star in the upcoming Focus Features movie, starring Eddie Patterson and Cam Gigandet.
Universal will be released Violent Night on December 2, 2022.
Pat Casey and Josh Miller (Sonic) wrote the film.
Kelly McCormick and David Leitch produced for 87North.
“Merry Christmas!” by David Harbor #ViolentNight is like DIE HARD, but the hero is… Santa Claus? A family is taken hostage and Harbor, as Santa Claus, comes to save the day. From the people behind JOHN WICK & NOBODY. Υπερβίαιο. Another savage for the Midnight crowd #CinemaCon pic.twitter.com/HrVbab7blI

Okay, I definitely want to see it from Focus Features: Violent Night! It’s Die Hard, but the hero is Santa Claus in a strip mall! John Leguizamo is the bad guy. #ViolentNight #CinemaCon # Cinemacon2022

Hm, this Christmas Focus releases VIOLENT NIGHT, in which David Harbor plays Santa Claus helping save a hostage family.
He shakes a sledgehammer, stabs people with ornaments, etc. Think Nobody + Die Hard + Santa Claus. It looks manic and enjoyable. #CinemaCon

Violent Night with David Harbor looks like a complete mess. I smell a new cult classic in the works. #ViolentNight #CinemaCon

“What about a movie that makes you sweat?” … And I star as a fucking Santa Claus ?? ” asks VIOLENT NIGHT star David Harbor. It’s basically DIE HARD with Santa Claus as John McClane. I start to think I have hallucinations about some of these movies. #CinemaCon pic.twitter.com/4OeS83s5XG

VIOLENT NIGHT has a great reaction from the crowd. It feels a bit like ABRAHAM LINCOLN: VAMPIRE HUNTER, except for Santa Claus in place of Honesto Abe and a group of mercenaries in place of vampires. Harbor seems to understand the mission. Harmless (and bloody) holiday fun.
