Directed by ace Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar, Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani is an upcoming romantic drama film. The much-awaited film marks KJo’s return to a director’s chair after six years.
His last directorial film was the Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma starrer Ae Dil Hai Muskil which released in 2016 and was a huge hit at the time. Prior to this, Karan has directed many critically acclaimed films like Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna, My Name Is Khan etc.
Star Cast of Rocky Aur Rani Ke Prem Kahani
The film stars actor Ranveer Singh in the lead role as Rocky and with this film the expectations are definitely high as the actor is expecting a big hit after his last two films 83 and Jayeshbhai Jordaar turned out to be the biggest flop.
Opposite him, actress Alia Bhatt will be seen playing Rani in the film. Gangubai’s latest film Kathiawadi received an amazing response from the audience as well as critics with all praises for her performance in the film. It was a commercial success and is said to have done a business of about Rs. 210 crore in its lifetime.
Along with the lead actors, the film also marks the return of legendary veteran actors Dharmendra, Shabana Azmi and Jaya Bachchan after a long time. It also stars popular TV actors Arjun Bijlani and Shraddha Arya in the prominent roles.

The team announced the end of the film
KJo, who besides directing the film, backed it along with his mother Hiroo Yash Johar and Apoorva Mehta under their Dharma Productions, announced the completion of the film by dropping a 1-minute video on Monday, August 1. 2022.
The director announced the package in the presence of the entire cast and crew, including Ranveer Singh, Dharmendra and Shabana Azmi, while the film’s star Alia Bhatt who completed her schedule last week, joined the team via video call. She couldn’t attend it physically as she is away to promote her upcoming black comedy Darling in which she stars alongside Shefali Shah and Vijay Varma.
In the video, Ranveer Singh is seen saying that he always wanted to be in a Karan Johar film, a Dharma film and the least he knew was that his first Dharma film will be directed by the man himself, the boss, referring to Karan Johar .
We can see the whole team cutting cake and enjoying, laughing and having fun together. Karan Johar in the caption of the video, called the film close to him forever. Filming for the film began in August 2021.

Rocky Aur Rani Ke Prem Kahani Release Date
The movie is set to hit the theaters in 2023. However, the official release date has not been announced by the makers of the movie. It is said that February 10, 2023 may be confirmed as its release date soon.
