Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani’s romantic musical Satyaprem Ki Katha looked promising in its second weekend as it recovered from a lackluster week. Directed by Sameer Vidwans, Satyaprem Ki Katha also stars Gajraj Rao, Supriya Pathak, Shikha Talsania, Rajpal Yadav, Siddharth Randeria and Anuradha Patel. It was released in theaters on June 29.

According to a report on Sacnilk.com, Satyaprem Ki Katha had registered a remarkable growth of 66% on Sunday with collections ₹5.25 crore on Sunday, but once again fell to approx ₹2 crore on Monday. It currently stands at a domestic total ₹68 crores.
The film is nowhere close to Kartik and Kiara’s last film together, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 which had collected ₹92 crore in the first week and overall ₹185 crore at the domestic box office. It was a horror comedy that also had Tabu, Amar Upadhyay, Sanjay Mishra and Milind Gunaji in the lead roles.
The film is however better than Kartik’s previous release of the year, Shehzada. The Rohit Dhawan film, also starring Kriti Sanon, has just wrapped up ₹32 crores. For Kiara, Satyaprem Ki Katha has performed somewhere close to her last theatrical release, Jugjugg Jeeyo, which collected ₹85 crore at the domestic box office.
Kartik Aaryan is leaving to work on his next film
On Tuesday morning, Kartik Aaryan flew in from Mumbai to start working on his next. He will now be seen in Kabir Khan’s Chandu Champion. The film will be released a year later. Kartik recently officially announced the film on Instagram. Sharing a caption poster, she wrote: “Hardest journey I’m about to embark on! But then…Chandu Nahi.. Champion Hai Main.#ChanduChampion – 14 Jun 2024 #SajidNadiadwala @kabirkhankk.”
According to a statement, Chandu Champion is based on the amazing true story of an athlete and his never-give-up spirit. The title poster also had a line that read, “A true story of a man who refused to surrender.”
