Neve Campbell is not expected to be in the latest slasher film. We look at why with a little guesswork.
Scream 6 is set to hit theaters this week on March 10th nationwide in the latest installment of the slasher film franchise. Ghostface is back (again) and this time in New York, hunting down Sam, Tara and the rest of the gang while they appear to be “different” in the trailers. In the 2022 reboot of the franchise, Scream introduced a new heroine in Sam Carpenter (Melissa Barrera). That didn’t mean the old heroine, Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell), wasn’t involved in the film. Sidney shows up and helps fight Ghostface for a new generation. So, of course, is Campbell reprising her role as Sidney in the final film? Correctly? Correctly??
Scream 6 predictions: Sidney Prescott
Campbell and Paramount Pictures had issues regarding her contract and payment for the 6th film and it was decided that she would not be in the film.
Chyeah, and monkeys might fly off my butt. Co-director Tyler Gillett had a few comments on the subject and Sidney is not in the last movie.
I really don’t believe for a second that was the case and the two couldn’t come to some kind of agreement on a contract/salary. I find it crazy that Sidney isn’t in Scream 6. So my general feeling is that this is just to mislead the general fanbase and viewers away from Sidney’s role in the movie. I don’t think that means he’s one of the killers, although that would be hell. If the 7th movie is going to tie this trilogy and maybe the franchise as a whole, Campbell will be in the movie. It just won’t work otherwise and it would be a huge disservice to all fans.
