Singer and actor Shannon K., who will soon be seen in the upcoming film ‘Hindi-Vindi’, shared that she will be essaying a Muslim Australian-Indian in the film.
The actress is going to share the big screen with me Neena Gupta and Mihir Ahujathe latter of whom will also be seen in Zoya Akhtar’s directorial ‘Archies’.
The daughter of the legendary playback singer Kumar SanuShannon said, “I’m happy to be cast with such an experienced actress like Neena Gupta. I can’t wait to learn more.”
He added: “Filming will start later this year in Sydney. My character is Rihanna, a Muslim Australian girl. I will share more details as the story unfolds. Right now I’m focusing on filming in Los Angeles.”
The film also gives insight into language barriers between generations and the love between a visiting grandmother and her Australian-Indian grandson, Kabir. The film follows Kabir’s transformational journey as he learns Hindi through the fusion of western and Indian music.
The film, directed by Ali Sayed, co-written by Ali Syed and Jay Sharma, the film will be shot in Australia.
Produced by Australian 24Six films and India’s Shah Entertainment Media (SEM), the film will be backed by Screen Australia and released in May 2024.
