Pop stars Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello have pulled it off. After two years of relationship, the couple announced their separation on November 17 in a joint statement.
“We decided to end our romantic relationship, but our love for each other as human beings is stronger than ever,” the singers posted on their Instagram stories on Wednesday. “We started our relationship as best friends and will continue to be best friends. We appreciate your support from the beginning and we are moving forward.”
Mendes, 23, and Cabello, 24, were secretive about their relationship for months in 2019, before confirming it in September of that year with a sloppy makeup session after being bullied by Internet users. “So we saw on Twitter… guys saying things about the way we kiss and how it looks weird, like we’re kissing like fish,” Mendes said in the 2019 video. “Yes, it really hurt our emotions,” Campello said sarcastically Mendes adds: “We just want to show you how we really kiss.”
The couple attended the Met Gala together in September this year. Camila Cabello last appeared at the VMAs of 2021. She sang her new song ‘Do not go yet“, While Shawn Mendes interpreted his successSummer of lovewith Tiny. The couple even attended Cinderella premiere together in which Cabello played the leading role. They were last seen on a beach in Florida earlier in November 2021.
