Actress Shreyas Talpade says directing a movie in which she also stars can be a bit daunting, so she will focus on one job at a time when she decides to go behind the camera.
After appearing in hit films such as Iqbal, Om Shanti Om, the Golmaal franchise and Housefull, Talpade made his directorial debut in 2017 with Poster Boys. The comedy was titled Brothers Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol, and also featured Talpand.
The 46-year-old actor said that he is currently working on his second directorial title, Sar Car Ki Seva Mei. Produced by Raaj Bhattacharya and Hariharan J Iyer, the film hit theaters last year. “This is the job title for now. It’s a sweet little story about a man whose car is stolen and what he does to get it back. “I play this part and I also direct it,” said Talpade.
Even before the release of Slice of-Life, the actor-director said he was playing with another story idea, but did not want it to be the title of the play. “I have another story I want to direct. If I direct it, I will probably stick to it and not really play in it. Your direction brings a lot. I feel I will be able to do more justice if I only direct one film, instead of doing both. “Otherwise it is too much work,” he added.
The actor is currently awaiting the release of his latest film, Kaun Pravin Tambe ?, a biographical film about the Indian cricketer Pravin Tambe. Directed by Jayprad Desai, Kaun Pravin Tambe; promises a “unique picture” of the life and passion of the leg spinner who started playing for IPL Rajasthan Royals at the age of 41. The film is supported by Fox Star Studios along with Friday Filmworks and Bootroom Sports. It will be released in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu on Disney + Hotstar on April 1st.
